Ok, to being, I have heard that it can be a VERY bad idea to do this, but I have heard of people doing it to my exact laptop, it is a Asus F8SN C-1 I am wondering pretty much if there is free apps or guides to show how to overclock proc and gpu in it, it runs a 2.5ghz C2D and a nvidia 9500gs [trace]99119[/trace]
ways to speed up n900? hey so does overclocking void warranty? and if i install cssu firmware then will it be as fast as overclocking? i mean if i only install cssu and dont take risk in overclocking then will it be as fast as overclocking?
The main problem with laptops is heat, so much so that many laptops run about as fast as you can make them without melting. I don't know if your laptop can be OC or not but don't expect to achieve great things. If your laptop already runs fairly hot, don't bother because the CPU will get automatically slowed down when it approaches maximum temperature anyway.
Here is a link to someone that overclocked their 9500: NotebookReview As far as overclocking the CPU, I'm sure it would be the same as on a desktop. Not too sure on programs to help overclock though. you could also try ATiTool But I wouldn't really bother due to heat, like Bundy said.
Gotcha, I have worried about that, but I haven't found any of my friends that have a laptop that runs close to as cool as mine. I would do it as a rarity, never a constant thing but yea. I may try it still even knowing the risks
or.. Buy a real PC for at home on your desk when you need performance & keep the laptop for your mobile usage? Not the cheapest option, but far higher potential success rate - cash permitting. What exactly where you hoping to do that your laptop wasn't managing at base clocks?
lol crysis. There is a bit of info, including crysis vid on your rig here NotebookReview Edit: sorry didnt notice link already posted
