All-time Intel user here. If I were to buy a new PC I was looking to wait till DDR5 came out with Alder Lake. However, with Intel CPUs having a downward spiral of high power consumption + only minimal gains in performance over older generations, it's time to consider other options. My current CPU is a i5 4690K. So I am not that aware about the newer generation Intel/AMD CPUs.
