Mickey: Why does my monitor creating a strange yellow glow and other bright glow in certain...

So I recently acquired an ASUS VS VS247H-P 23.6 monitor (left side of pic). In several of the settings (eg. gaming mode), the color seems to have a strange "glow." Yellows seem to resemble the yellow glow of a yellow highlighter.

I've taken a photo of a side by side red/yellow/green comparison of the Asus monitor with my old HP w2207 22" monitor (on the right).

Does anyone know why it would do this for these settings?
