Mickey: Why are people intimidated or scared to build their own PC?

Ive been seeing a lot of people saying they just "buy one off the shelf" instead of building their own rigs. My question is what about "building" your own has you scared or intimidated or worried about rolling up your sleeves and making your own custom computer?
