Mickey: Which old platform is preferable?

    Old system with i7-870 w/all cores @ 3.8 GHz OC
    Asus P7P55D-E LX

    Old system with i5-2500K (3.2-3.7 GHz)
    Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4-B3

    Main use is home office, with some light gaming. By 'light gaming', I mean no competitive/on-line games; mostly single player stuff.
    Wondering if 4c/8t or slightly newer 4c/4t would be faster?
