Prices on CPUs like the older 5820k, and even 5960x are looking pretty good. Looks like you can get a knockoff x99 board for less than $100, too. This could translate into a whole system upgrade for less than $300 in a time where a decent normal CPU by itself would cost over $300... at least coming up off of a 2600k. 6c/12t at 4GHz or so wouldn't be so bad...
