I have an old system that I figured I would update a bit. Motherboard is gigabyte EX58-UD3R and old CPU is Core i7-920. I bought a Xeon 5690 to replace the i7. Simple task I thought. This went wrong. I bent two legs in the socket only slightly, didn't notice, failed to boot, corrected the pins, still fails to boot. I have extracted the motherboard and when I attach power (24 pin + 8 pin) and I CPU, no RAM, and short the pins to power on the motherboard, it loops every 3 seconds... System shuts off after 1 second Weiterlesen...
