So the USB3 port on my laptop (yes, there's only one, it's an older Toshiba) broke. The Vss contact broke off and I don't see any way of MacGyvering something so it has to be replaced. It's many years old, but it still works fine for what I do with it. Used motherboards on ebay - even parts boards - go for far more than I'm interested in spending on it. I have tried to find a replacement port but nothing I've found is of the right design to fit the board. They're all either offset... Need replacement USB port Weiterlesen...
