Mickey: E7250, lights come on, four seconds of fan activity then shuts off with blinking LED

It has been some time since posting here, don't get a chance to hang out much any more - maybe stop in to read the Kreig tribute thread or Nasa pictures.

However I bring a peculiar one to you today

E7250
I7, 8gb single stack RAM

Left it on for a few hours recently and came back to it being powered off. Thought it was on standby/sleep however it would not respond to normal power button presses.
Took it to the charger and plugged it in - still would not power on.
Then noticed the blue ring...
