Mickey: Dell OptiPlex 7040 MT shuts down under load when GPU is installed — works fine once...

Hey everyone,

I’m running into a frustrating issue with my Dell OptiPlex 7040 MT: whenever I install a discrete GPU, the system shuts down under load — even at very light GPU usage (~20–30%). Without the GPU, everything runs completely fine. It also used to work with this same GPU, but one day it just started crashing out of nowhere.

Specs:

• Intel i5-6500
• 12GB DDR4 RAM (1×4GB + 1×8GB)
• MSI GeForce GT 730 2GB DDR3 GPU
• Genuine Dell 240W PSU (recently replaced)...
