I had an old Laptop Cooler that I rec'd as a gift many years ago. When i used it, plugging the USB cable into the lappie, it fried the USB ports on the lappie. Soon after I bought a self powered USB port and been using it every since. So, not having any issues with heat and my lappie (Custom built Clevo 17') which double for AutoCAD workstation and Faming Platform when on the road nut wanted to lift it up off the desk and angle it a bit.
